Code 8

In the sequel to the 2019 film Code 8, a young woman embarks on a quest for justice after her brother falls victim to corrupt law enforcement officers. Seeking aid from an ex-convict, who also happens to be her former partner, she delves into a world fraught with danger and deception.

In Code 8: Part II, the story follows Connor (portrayed by Robbie Amell), who, having been released from prison, strives to lead a lawful life as a janitor at a community center, distancing himself from his past criminal endeavors with Garrett (played by Stephen Amell). However, Connor’s resolve is tested when he becomes entangled in a desperate bid to help 14-year-old Pav (Sirena Gulamgaus) escape from the clutches of corrupt officers, led by Sergeant King (Alex Mallari Jr.). As King deploys state-of-the-art robotic K9 units to hunt down Pav, Connor finds himself reluctantly reaching out to Garrett and his crew for assistance, grappling with the question of whether he can trust the man who once betrayed him.

Directed by Jeff Chan and penned by a team including Chris ParĂ©, Sherren Lee, and Jesse Lavercombe, Code 8: Part II reunites the Amell brothers in the lead roles alongside a talented ensemble cast. Produced by Chan, ParĂ©, Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell, and Steven Hoban, the film promises a thrilling continuation of the franchise’s action-packed narrative.

Originally conceived as a short film in 2016, Code 8 gained momentum through a successful fundraising campaign, culminating in a feature-length adaptation that hit theaters in 2019 and later found success on Netflix in 2020. Garnering praise from critics and audiences alike, the franchise has remained a standout in the genre, with plans for a tie-in spinoff series previously in the works. Despite setbacks, Code 8: Part II signifies a continuation of the saga’s gripping storytelling and immersive world-building.
