Where to Find the Best Vegan Cupcakes in Hong Kong

Vegans all-around can understand the frustration you feel when you are going door to door, just trying to find a shop with some delicious tasting vegan sweets, snacks, and desserts. But we are often left feeling unsatisfied, and that can make us quite hangry!  But now, if you are walking down the streets of Hong Kong and craving some candied vegan delicacies, worry no more! Here is a list of three shops that offer the best cupcakes in hk. (The vegan kind of course!)

1. Sweet Secrets Bakery Shop

A friendly Lady named Sarah Lee runs this small yet fabulous cupcake store, it is located on Graham Street, next to the artfully designed walls of Pololi. Established in 1999, Sweet Secrets in one of the first bakeries that took the initiative of serving western-style cakes and desserts.

They use less to no artificial ingredients and stick to ingredients like fresh egg, real butter, Organic Madagascar vanilla extract, Belgium dark chocolate, pure cream, etc. They bake everything from scratch in small batches.

All their products are very healthy and safe, and their menu offers delicious choices that are gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and vegan! Their customers have been more than satisfied with the services provided at Sweet Secrets. Some even claim that it’s hard not to droll at the delicious smell of the baked products while walking by this store.

In the past few years, the Sweet Secrets team has continuously worked on innovating and creating better custom recipes to meet the standards of their customers and satisfy them. They were the first bakery in Hong Kong to offer desserts catering to individuals with different and various food intolerances. They use raw-organic non-refined sugar (coconut sugar), healthy fats (cold-pressed coconut oil), and other organic ingredients to ensure good health and maintain a high standard of super sweet deliciousness.

Sweet Secret also recently began to sell their vegan cakes in boxes that can be purchased from the green common at the airport. They aim at baking desserts that are not just beautiful and delicious but also healthier and more wholesome. Their mission is to bring joy, fun, and happiness in people’s lives and bring them together regardless of their diet situations. From all of us at Baking Maniac, more power to you, Sarah!

This baking practice helps to upgrade the overall nutritional profile of desserts and replace refined sugar with natural sugar. They offer a whole range of products that are organic, sugar-free, gluten-free, and vegan friendly! Each and every product of theirs has balanced macros and is nutrient-rich, so their customers can get satisfied with every bite. In April 2016, they opened their first pop up show at Landmark, followed by a pop-up at Pacific Place in August 2016 and back again at The Landmark in November 2016. Finally, they opened their first permanent shop, The Cakery, at Lee Gardens two in February 2017 and then opened another permanent shop at the Landmark in April 2017. They also launched a Conscious Living Campaign in 2018 as they strongly believe in conscious living and mindful eating. The Cakery Shop regularly collaborates with different green campaigns and offer discounts throughout the year. So watch out for their offers to get your vegan goodies of the day!

3. LN Fortunate Coffee

LN Fortunate Coffee is located only about two-minutes from the Sai Ying Pun MTR station (Exit B2). It is a great place to hang out or to do work while snacking on some scrumptious vegan foods or drinks!  The food offered here is very unique and tasty.

This bakery shop is known for its innovative recipes and its indigenous ways to attract non-vegan people to try new recipes. They offer a wide variety of food options, from snacks such as egg-waffles to satay to comfort foods such as hotdogs and burgers, from warm food such as soup noodles and curry rice to desserts ranging from matcha cupcakes to egg-less waffles!

They have created a lovely and refreshing ambiance around and inside their shop. They provide free wi-fi, clean bathrooms, free water filters, and use metal straws. The staff there is extremely kind and welcoming. They patiently listen to orders, attentively get feedback, and are always ready to have a conversation with you. Isn’t that kind?

However, the price is quite high, A burger there costs about $100, and the customers are not happy about that. They do, however, offer set meals at more reasonable prices that come with a side of orange juice, potato fries, and more.
